Kanya Sesser

Para athlete, Hollywood actress, runway model Kanya Sesser is an unstoppable force!

Found on the side of a road and now shredding mountain slopes, skateboarding and appearing in Hollywood films: Athlete, actress and model Kanya Sesser shows how to have it all!

From being abandoned in Thailand on the side of the road as a baby to competing as an international multi-sport athlete and starring in Hollywood blockbusters, Sesser says unconditional self-confidence is the key to her success. Kanya has won second place in women’s street adaptive, went to the X games for adaptive skate, has her own skateboard deck model and has competed in the Paralympics in 2011 as the 3rd fastest women in the world and in the World Cup in Switzerland 2010, she shows that anything is possible!

A skateboarder, snowboarder, actress and runway model, Kanya Sesser has proven that even the humblest beginnings cannot hold one back from enjoying a full life.

Never at a loss of things to do, Sesser’s advice for those who want a full lifestyle like hers is simple:

“Start off by putting you first. Start off by asking what do you want? There is one lifetime because life is not guaranteed, and the thing that I would regret the most is not living my fullest life. When I die, my only regret would be not trying to live life fully how I want to and filling myself with things that I want to do.”

1st birth: Bangkok, Thailand

2nd birth: Adopted at 5 years old, raised in Portland, Oregon.

Current residency: Los Angeles, California

Hobbies: Skating at Venice, Harbor City, The Berrics, street, OB (ocean beach skatepark) or at Linda Vista, and sometimes when wanting to cruise around down hill or on the streets by the beach for fun on a cruiser surf skate carver board. Snowboarding and Mono Skiing during the winter seasons up in Colorado, Park City, UT, Mammoth, big bear and in Bend Oregon. And likes to cook occasionally when not on the road so much for stunts or acting jobs in the film industry. Staying active is important. I’m a morning and night person. I guess I rarely sleep. Lol

Shout out to: Pic Skateboards for making my own name model board for me. It’s a dream come true. I really wanted to have my own board to motivate other female skaters and especially adaptive athletes that are in the skateboarding world to know that anything is possible and anyone can skate. We’ve been fighting for years to be accepted into competing in the sport now we’ve made it this far to go to the X games, Dew Tour, did a demo at USA skateboarding and hopefully eventually be part in the Paralympics one day, but most importantly it’s all about having fun !

Also shout out to sandlot times, Adaptive Skateboarding, Dan Gale, Oscar Loreto, and many others who’s names I forgot cause I’m bad at names but with the connections I had with skateboarding when coming here to California without them, I wouldn’t have branch out to so many opportunities in skate to meet other adaptive skaters! It’s been an amazing journey.

Skate history: i made that rainbow railing after 1,000 tries and finally made it through at the Woodward West camp with sandlot times. And making second place at the Dew Tour for women’s Street Adaptive skate and 2nd and 3rd place at the Poseidon Foundation Adaptive girls skate competition.

Favorite Food and Drink: Thai food anything spicy, Italian, red wine and a charcuterie boards on the weekends watching the sunsets, yes I’m boujee!

Next travel: I just wanna skate at every country and just live life to the fullest of memories, meeting people and adventures! 🏽
